Exclusivité : de la réservation d’appels aux arrivées tardives, Dextr AI lève 6,7 millions de dollars pour ses agents IA hôteliers

Dextr AI has emerged from stealth with $6.7 million in seed funding led by Elevation Capital to deploy hospitality artificial intelligence agents that manage guest requests, bookings, and staff workflows.

Exclusive: From Booking Calls To Late Check-Ins, Dextr AI Raises $6.7M For Hotel AI Agents

When Sajid Shariff returned to the Bay Area in 2024, he caught up with contacts from his background in hospitality to see what had shifted since his departure during the pandemic. He learned that hotels continued to grapple with staffing shortages, climbing labor expenses, and the constant push to drive revenue.

To help address these issues, Shariff offered to develop an artificial intelligence agent for a couple of locations. The initial creation, named Alfred, managed guest inquiries alongside check-in and check-out procedures. Within a 90-day window, online feedback improved at both locations. He subsequently rolled out the tool to additional properties before realizing that guest messaging represented only a fraction of the broader opportunity.

That momentum led him to partner with Scott Arnold to establish Dextr AI, a San Francisco-based startup launched in July 2025. The company is now stepping out of stealth mode backed by $6.7 million in seed financing to deploy agents capable of managing reservations, accommodating guest needs, coordinating staff workflows, and executing other hospitality duties. Elevation Capital spearheaded the investment round, with participation from Foundation Capital, marking Dextr’s inaugural institutional funding.

From guest requests to bookings

Following initial deployments centered on guest management, Dextr expanded into inbound telephone communications by introducing Daisy, a voice-driven reservation agent. Shariff discovered that when a caller asks a question about a reservation or seeks details missing from an online booking portal, providing an answer can successfully convert into a reservation. As hotels adopted Daisy, he observed that phone interactions were directly generating revenue.

Presently, a major hotel utilizing Dextr’s technology processes between $100,000 and $300,000 per month in bookings through the voice agent alone, according to Shariff.

Dextr has since broadened its offerings to include agents tailored for group bookings, personnel management, and complementary tasks. The overarching objective is to interlink these agents so that data collected in one operational zone can trigger automated responses elsewhere. For instance, if a visitor declines housekeeping services, the guest management agent can relay that detail to operations so supervisors can modify employee schedules accordingly.

Another application involves properties functioning without an overnight front desk attendant. A late-arriving guest can phone the property, have Daisy authenticate their booking, and receive step-by-step guidance to access their accommodations. Daisy and Alfred collaborate to streamline the late-arrival process.

Utilizing agents for late arrivals can eliminate the necessity of staffing an overnight desk shift for certain properties. Shariff estimated that maintaining such a shift in a regional market like California can incur expenses ranging from $70,000 to $80,000 annually.

“It was very hard to hire for these shifts to begin with,” he noted.

Building ROI

Shariff emphasizes that integrating multiple agents is one of three primary factors differentiating Dextr from alternative hospitality AI solutions. While an agent restricted to answering calls or messages fulfills a singular duty, linking it with complementary tools unlocks expanded capabilities for a given property.

“It’s important that we do multiple use cases to see the higher ROI,” he shared in an interview with Crunchbase News.

The second differentiator, as outlined by Shariff, is Dextr’s onboarding strategy. Implementing these agents involves more than a standard software installation. Because every hotel operates differently regarding reservation tracking, staff allocation, and guest communication, Dextr dispatches engineers to collaborate directly with clients. These engineers pinpoint operational use cases and establish connections to legacy systems, remaining actively engaged as the property integrates the agents to maximize return on investment.

“Every property, every operation is different in this space,” he explained. Dextr currently features integrations with major property management systems such as Oracle Hospitality, OPERA Cloud, StayNtouch, Cloudbeds, and Hostaway.

The third distinction lies in employee interaction. Staff members can issue commands via text or voice utilizing a companion interface named Doss, removing the need to navigate complex, multi-step software platforms. Shariff highlighted that high staff turnover makes comprehensive training on intricate systems difficult for hotels, frequently leading to a loss of institutional knowledge when workers depart. With Doss, “you can call it, you can talk to it, you can text it,” he stated.

Hotels and more

Dextr reports that its agents currently facilitate more than 1 million interactions monthly across hundreds of hospitality sites. Client properties range from boutique locations with 21 rooms to large facilities boasting 550 rooms. The user base encompasses independent establishments, properties operating under flags such as Hilton, Wyndham, Best Western, and IHG, as well as call centers, vacation rentals, and outdoor hospitality operators.

The startup collaborates directly with owners and operators of branded assets, Shariff noted, and is forging its first direct partnership with a major hotel brand, which he chose not to name. Additionally, the company serves property management groups, reservation hubs, short-term rentals, and outdoor destinations including campgrounds, recreational vehicle parks, lodges, and golf courses.

Dextr bills clients via a subscription model dictated by property scale and active agents, complemented by usage-based fees for select tools. While Shariff withheld exact figures concerning revenue, profitability, and valuation, he noted that following an extensive pilot phase last year, Dextr accelerated its growth trajectory this spring. Annual recurring revenue has reportedly expanded between 20% and 30% month over month, though specific financial metrics were not disclosed.

The enterprise intends to channel the fresh capital into hiring additional client-facing engineers, broadening its software integration network, and engineering new agent capabilities. Consequently, the internal team has scaled from three individuals a year ago to 21.

Krishna Mehra, an artificial intelligence investor at Elevation Capital, informed Crunchbase News that Dextr’s rapid early momentum initially drew the firm’s focus, highlighting clients leveraging the agents to drive bookings and cross-selling while suppressing overhead expenses.

“What stood out immediately was Sajid and Scott’s execution. Dextr scaled to [hundreds of] contracted properties and meaningful ARR without raising a single dollar,” he wrote via email. “In a space where most AI companies are still searching for product-market fit, Dextr had customers, zero churn, and a clear ROI story. That combination of founder quality and early traction is exactly what we look for at Elevation.”
