सक्रिय निवेशकों ने Q3 में सौदों की गति बनाए रखी, भले ही फंडिंग में गिरावट आई
Active startup investors maintained or accelerated their dealmaking frequency in the third quarter, even as overall venture capital funding experienced a drop due to fewer record-breaking artificial intelligence megarounds.
During the third quarter, active startup investors largely maintained or accelerated their dealmaking frequency, even though overall venture capital funding experienced a drop due to a lack of brand-new record-breaking megarounds for artificial intelligence leaders.
Crunchbase statistics indicate that a majority of the most prolific venture investors participated in a higher volume of transactions in Q3 than they did in the preceding quarter. This trend includes many historically high-frequency participants, such as Sequoia Capital, Insight Partners, and Andreessen Horowitz.
Furthermore, leading venture investors generally stepped up their activity levels this past quarter, despite the highest-spending firms appearing to deploy smaller amounts of total capital. Meanwhile, top dealmakers at the seed stage largely maintained their respective positions.
A closer look at these trends is provided below through charts and analysis detailing the most active investor rankings across several categories, covering venture dealmakers, major spenders, lead backers, and seed investors.
Most active venture investors
Beginning with post-seed round activity, Y Combinator led all firms by participating in 45 deals. The well-known accelerator frequently places near the top of these lists because it takes part in follow-on financings for the startups it helps incubate.
Insight Partners, Andreessen Horowitz, and Sequoia Capital followed on the list. In total, as illustrated below, at least 22 distinct investors joined 10 or more known venture rounds during the quarter.
Busiest lead investors
Looking at lead investors for venture rounds, Andreessen, Insight, and Khosla Ventures secured the top spots by leading 16, 18, and 12 rounds, respectively.
Additionally, three other firms — Sequoia, Valor Equity Partners, and Atreides Management — completed 10 lead deals apiece in Q3.
Spendiest lead investors
An effort was also made to determine which lead investors put the most money to work in Q3. To estimate this, the rankings examine investors whose lead rounds possessed the highest cumulative value.1
Valor and Atreides tied for the No. 1 position under this metric, recording $7.7 billion in led or co-led transactions for the quarter. The two firms shared some overlap, with a minimum of six rounds listing both organizations as lead investors. Notable examples included Crusoe’s $3.9 billion Series F financing and Positron’s $375 million Series C round.
Nvidia and Andreessen Horowitz followed in the standings with $6.3 billion and $6.5 billion in led or co-led Q3 deals, respectively. Andreessen’s figures were heavily driven by a $2 billion investment in Cognition and a $1.7 billion financing round for Atoms. Nvidia’s most prominent transaction was a $5 billion round for Safe Superintelligence.
Seed investors
Seed-stage investors also remained very active throughout Q3. Crunchbase figures show that Y Combinator was easily the most active by a wide margin, participating in at least 221 known seed rounds.
Antler also secured a high placement with 31 reported seed transactions, followed by Rebel Fund and LvlUp Ventures with 23 and 24 recorded deals, respectively.
Overall, another busy, AI-driven quarter
Altogether, the active investor rankings illustrate yet another high-activity quarter for startup financing, with artificial intelligence serving as the primary driver behind the majority of deal flow.
Familiar organizations continue to dominate the various lists. Nevertheless, a handful of firms are scaling up their investment activities significantly, with Valor and Atreides standing out for stepping up their participation recently.

Rounds with multiple investors seldom break out each backer’s share in the deal. However, in most cases lead backers contribute a significant share to a financing, particularly if there are few investors or lead investors in that deal.↩
